If you can't remember when you last updated your marketing collateral, it's probably time to give them a facelift. Do you have new contact information? Have you made any changes to your offerings or marketing messages? Do the designs or photos you use feel outdated? These are common reasons why you might want to update your collateral. A good rule of thumb is to audit your marketing collateral at least once per year to evaluate whether they still align with your brand identity and voice. These are the most common marketing materials that you should include in your audit:

1. Social media assets: Customers can learn a lot about your brand from social media. Make sure that your profile pictures, headers, and any other assets feature your brand's logo and colors. If you use any templates for organic posts, you should update those as well. Going forward, you should post pictures that are less than a year old in order to keep your content timely and relevant.

2. Email templates: Whether you send out order confirmations or a weekly newsletter to your customers, your email template should mirror your other marketing collateral. Customers are more likely to engage with emails that are visually appealing. That means your email should have a simple layout that doesn't overload the reader with too many pictures or buttons. Your email should also feature the same colors and fonts as your brand standards.

3. Print collateral: Your first thought might be to update your business cards, but don't forget about other print collateral! Look at your flyers, brochures, pamphlets, and stationery to make sure they include your logo and your brand's fonts and colors.

4. Tradeshow assets: If you frequently attend tradeshows or contentions, modern signage is the key to attracting leads. Take a look at your signage, pop-up banners, or tablecloths and see if they align with the messaging and design of your other marketing materials.

Updating your marketing collateral can seem daunting, but it will help you stand out from the competition and keep your customers engaged. If you need assistance with updating your collateral, or you're interested in rebranding, give Addison Clark a call today!
