So you wrote a blog post. Now what? Instead of letting your words languish in the archives, bring them back to life by repurposing the content. Here are a few ways you can do that.

Our marketing manager, Anne-Stuart is taking over the blog this week to share her Restaurant Week experiences…stay tuned for more mouth-watering details!

Have you been wondering why on earth you can’t get a reservation at your favorite restaurant this week? That would be because it is Restaurant Week in RVA! What is Restaurant Week you ask? Only the most amazing week (two weeks actually—they do one in the fall) of the year! The concept of restaurant week is simple: get a bunch of restaurants to offer three-course meals at a fixed price and donate some of that money to charity. Pretty awesome right? (Nod your head yes.)

Social media is starting 2016 off in a big way, with many platform rolling out new features and big announcements of things to come. We're looking forward to seeing how these developments play out in the world of marketing this year. Here are a few things we found noteworthy this week:

By now, you've probably heard about the impending "Mobilegeddon" that will be happening on April 21st. It sounds a bit ominous but, trust us, it's not as bad as you think. Let us catch you up. In February, Google announced that it would begin using mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal for the search engine, meaning that mobile-friendly websites would appear higher in search results.

Although it has officially been spring for a few weeks now, the warm weather has just arrived in Richmond and it looks like it's here to stay. That can only mean one thing: time to get out and enjoy our city! When we're not building websites, composing witty social media posts, or erecting giant banner stands, the team at Addison Clark loves to explore the many sites that Richmond has to offer. We asked some team members to share their favorite outdoor spots around Richmond. Let us know if we missed a favorite spot of yours!

5 things you should be doing on social media:

  1. Building connections The first step to creating a presence on any social media platform is to build connections...and then build some more and then some more. Just like the name indicates, social media is "social". That is why every social media platform out there allows you to build connections, although they may refer to them differently. Facebook calls them friends, Twitter refers to them as followers, YouTube calls them subscribers, and LinkedIn calls them connections. Regardless of the title, they're all the same — an audience your business can connect with.

What do you do at Addison Clark?
I'm a marketing manager. I'm brand new and still learning what to do!

What’s your favorite thing about your job?
The people I work with! Even though I'm new I feel like I have worked with them forever. We certainly laugh a lot.

What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Instagram because I love those filters that make me look way better than I actually do!

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Unread notifications on my phone (or other people’s for that matter…how have you not read 1,300 emails???)

If your business has a Facebook Page, you may have noticed a new, strategically placed button on your cover photo. The call-to-action button is Facebook's newest feature that was just recently rolled out to all Facebook Page users. The button allows Page admins to select from seven different call-to-actions, like Shop Now, Contact Us, or Sign Up, that can be linked to destinations on or off Facebook. The goal is to help Pages drive business objectives by encouraging their fans to perform a desired action. Call-to-action buttons are free to use and easy to create. Follow our step-by-step guide below to get started.

Add this to your list of things to be completed before you die: choosing a legacy contact on Facebook. Facebook's newest feature allows users to choose someone (known as a "legacy contact") to manage their account after they pass away.
